Saudi foreign minister holds talks with counterparts on sidelines of meeting on countering Daesh

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, held meetings with his counterparts from several countries on Wednesday on the sidelines of a meeting of the Global Coalition Against Daesh.

The aim of the coalition meeting was to coordinate international efforts to prevent the extremist group from mounting a revival in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition to foreign ministers, senior officials from dozens of countries attended the gathering at a luxury hotel in Marrakesh.

Prince Faisal met with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, who co-hosted the main meeting, to discuss bilateral relations and ways in which they might be enhanced. They also reviewed regional and international developments of common interest.

The prince also held meetings with the foreign ministers of Iraq, Bahrain, Spain, Norway and the Czech Republic.
