Al-Hilal's striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will be out of action for six weeks due to a hamstring injury, as confirmed by the club on Monday. The injury occurred during their 4-3 victory over Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday.
Mitrovic suffered the injury in the first half of the match while running with the ball and was subsequently substituted. Medical tests revealed a hamstring muscle injury, and he will undergo a six-week treatment and rehabilitation program.
Before his injury, Mitrovic had scored twice in the game, bringing his league goal tally to 22 from 22 games.
After the match, Al-Hilal's manager Jorge Jesus commented on Mitrovic's injury, describing it as "serious." He acknowledged that Mitrovic's absence poses a challenge as he is a key player without an immediate replacement. Jesus attributed the injury partly to Mitrovic's recent international duties and travel schedule, highlighting the risks involved in playing for a successful team competing in multiple competitions.
