Al Arabiya expands international reach with new programs in English

Al Arabiya news network is expanding its reach with new English-language programming, aimed at broadening its global audience. The network has enlisted renowned journalists Rosanna Lockwood and Tom Burges Watson to host two new shows.

Rosanna Lockwood, previously with BBC, Reuters, and CNBC, will anchor “Global News Today,” a daily show that will cover significant world events such as US elections and international developments.

Tom Burges Watson, a former CNN International presenter, will lead “WE News,” which will focus on major global news stories.

These programs are part of Al Arabiya’s broader strategy to enhance its global presence and provide diverse perspectives and insightful analysis. The shows will broadcast daily and be available on free-to-air satellite TV and Al Arabiya’s digital platforms, including YouTube and Facebook.

Mamdouh Al-Muhaini, the network’s general manager, highlighted the expansion as a move to deliver high-quality, comprehensive news coverage to an international audience, reflecting the network's commitment to providing trusted and accurate news similar to its Arabic-language offerings.
