Artist William Brooks seeks fresh inspiration in Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Art Futures program

William Brooks, a Welsh artist renowned for his innovative sound art installations, is among the inaugural participants in Saudi Arabia's Diriyah Art Futures' Emerging New Media Artists Programme. This year-long, fully funded initiative, developed in collaboration with Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains in France, offers artists access to state-of-the-art equipment, production budgets, and mentorship from esteemed international digital artists.

Brooks' work delves into the Radio Frequency Landscape, examining how information propagates over the radio spectrum. His installations often transform physical objects into interactive sound experiences, inviting audiences to engage with the unseen world of radio frequencies.

The Diriyah Art Futures centre, situated in Riyadh, serves as a hub for new media art, fostering innovation and collaboration among artists worldwide. By participating in this programme, Brooks aims to draw inspiration from Saudi Arabia's rich cultural heritage and dynamic art scene, further expanding the boundaries of his artistic practice.
